Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of MyCareerOS. By creating an account, you agree to them. Written in plain language on purpose, no buried surprises.

1. What MyCareerOS Is, and Is Not

MyCareerOS is a job search tool. It is not a staffing agency, not a recruiter, and not a placement service. We do not guarantee employment, act as a go-between with employers on interviews, payroll, or hiring decisions, or make any promise about outcomes.

MyCareerOS provides real-time job search assistance, resume tailoring, interview preparation, and coaching, based entirely on information you provide. Any decision to apply, interview, or accept an offer is yours alone.

2. Your Account

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You're responsible for maintaining access to the email address tied to your account, since sign-in happens through a magic link sent there. You may delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

Trial: new accounts get a set number of free hunts to try MyCareerOS. A real card is verified to start the trial, but you are never charged unless you actively choose to subscribe once your free hunts are used.
Subscription: once you subscribe, you're billed monthly at the rate for your selected tier, charged automatically until you cancel.
Cancellation: you can cancel at any time, one click, from your account's Billing page. Cancellation stops future billing; you retain access through the end of your current paid period.
Refunds: we don't prorate refunds for time already used within a billing period, since cancel-anytime is the actual value exchange. We do issue full refunds for genuine billing errors, such as a duplicate charge or a charge that lands after you've already canceled. As a one-time goodwill exception, if you contact us within 48 hours of a renewal charge and haven't used the service since that charge, we'll refund it without argument. "Used" here means running a hunt or generating any tailored materials (resume, cover letter, interview prep) after that charge; if either happened, the goodwill window no longer applies.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use MyCareerOS for any purpose other than your own genuine job search
Attempt to access another user's account or data
Use the service to send spam, harassment, or misleading communications to employers
Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the service's normal operation
Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or the information in your profile in a way intended to deceive an employer

5. AI-Generated Content

Resumes, cover notes, interview prep, and coaching responses are generated using AI, grounded in the information you provide. We do not fabricate experience, credentials, or employment history on your behalf; the system is designed to reorganize and present what's genuinely true about your background. You're responsible for reviewing anything generated before you send it to an employer, since you're the one submitting it, not us.

6. Job Listings

Job listings surfaced by MyCareerOS are aggregated from third-party sources across the public web. We make good-faith efforts to filter for accuracy, currency, and legitimacy, including flagging listings that show signs of being reposted repeatedly without genuine hiring intent. We cannot guarantee that every listing is accurate, still open, or free of misrepresentation by the employer, and MyCareerOS is not affiliated with any employer whose listing appears in the tool.

7. Intellectual Property

MyCareerOS, its name, design, and underlying technology, is our property. Your resume, profile information, and any content you provide remain yours; you grant us a limited license to use it solely to operate the service on your behalf.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

MyCareerOS is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that any specific job listing is accurate, that any application will result in a response, interview, or offer, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyCareerOS is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including decisions made based on AI-generated content or job listing information.

9. Changes to the Service or These Terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a new date, and, where reasonable, communicated to active subscribers by email.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica.
